About Jane Winthrop
Jane Winthrop was born prematurely at Harmony Hospital on December 2nd, 2004. At birth, it wasn't certain whose child she was since the birth mother, Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, had been implanted with Gwen and Ethan Winthrop's embryo and was also pregnant by Ethan but one fetus had to be sacrificed to save the other. When the DNA tests came back, it was confirmed that Theresa and Ethan were Jane's parents. The proud parents decided to name her Jane after Theresa's favorite book, Jane Eyre.
Shortly after being released from the hospital, she developed a high fever and was rushed back to the hospital where Gwen kidnapped her and insisted on calling her "Ashley." Jane was eventually rescued by Ethan and Theresa but the bliss didn't last long. Ethan chose between Gwen and Theresa and once again, chose Gwen out of obligation and guilt. In retaliation, Theresa insisted on pressing charges against the murderous Gwen and that didn't go over too well with Ethan. In his angered state, he was able to be coaxed by Gwen and Rebecca into seeking custody of Jane. Ethan fought Theresa for Jane with the argument that Theresa was too vindictive to be a good influence on their daughter. He won.
Currently, Jane is living at the Bed & Breakfast with Ethan and Gwen.
