About Gwen
Liza Huber portrays Gwen, the socialite daughter of Rebecca and Jonathan Hotchkiss. Gwen is married to her childhood sweetheart, Ethan Winthrop, despite her husband's lingering feelings for his ex-fiancée and her nemesis, Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald. More than anything, Gwen longs to be a mother, but is biologically unable to have children. Gwen is the best friend and confidante of Sheridan Crane.
The FORD modeling agency in New York currently represents Huber and in the year 2000, she had the honor of being named Miss Golden Globe. Huber made her television debut in Lifetime Television's original move "Ebbie." On stage, Huber starred in and co-produced "Four Dogs and a Bone" at the Harold Clurman Theater in New York.
Daughter of daytime icon Susan Lucci, Huber was born on February 22 and grew up on Long Island, NY. She wed her childhood sweetheart, Alex Hesterberg III, in March of 2004.

Hartley was a national pre-teen talent winner of the Young Miss America Beauty pageant. A gifted vocalist, singing since age eleven, Hartley has starred in "Grease" on Broadway, as the lead vocalist in the Las Vegas Sands Hotel afternoon show "Viva Las Vegas," the role of "The Bride" in "Beetlejuice's Rockin' Graveyard Revue" at Universal Studios Hollywood, the coveted role of "Maria" in the Civic Light Opera's "West Side Story" at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas and in "Pygmalion, the True Story", which toured the Greek Islands. Additionally, Hartley has won several national vocal competitions including The L.A. Philharmonic's Award Vocal Opera, The National Date Festival and America's Showcase Starlet.
A native of Palm Springs, CA, Hartley currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Justin Hartley, and their baby daughter, Isabella. Her birthday is April 17.
About the Rivalry
After his engagement to Theresa ended as a result of her lies, Ethan once again grew close to his childhood sweetheart, Gwen. Eventually, Ethan bought a ring for Gwen and planned to propose to his former fiancée. But before he had the chance, Ethan began spending more time with Theresa and her newborn son, who also happened to be his namesake. Ethan searched his soul and realized Theresa was truly the woman in his heart. He planned to propose to Theresa instead of Gwen...until he learned that Gwen was pregnant with his baby! Once again, Ethan did some soul-searching and realized he wanted to be with the mother of his child. He proposed to Gwen, who eventually accepted. Despite Theresa's interference, Gwen and Ethan finally made their way down the aisle and said, "I do." Unfortunately, Gwen began experiencing a difficult pregnancy. After learning of a specialist in Los Angeles, Gwen and Ethan decided to travel there to see him. At the same time, Pilar suggested Theresa visit Whitney, Chad, and Fox in Los Angeles as a way of giving Ethan and Gwen space during Gwen's pregnancy. Ethan and Gwen made their way to Los Angeles, as did Theresa-and neither knew of the others' plans.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Gwen was immediately taken to the hospital. Ethan eventually made his way to the Crane apartment and crawled into bed. Unbeknownst to him, Theresa was asleep in the same bed! While dreaming, the two wound up kissing and when they woke up they were shocked to find themselves in bed with one another! Ethan vowed to stay away from Theresa, but he was unable to uphold his promise. Time and again, they found themselves drawn into passionate embraces. Ethan even admitted to Theresa that he still loved her. Unfortunately, one of the former lovers' kisses was caught on tape and broadcast to all of Los Angeles!
When Gwen spied the footage of Ethan and Theresa kissing, she couldn't believe her eyes! She quickly made her way over to the apartment to confront her enemy. Once there, she lashed out at Theresa for trying to steal her husband. When Gwen physically attacked Theresa, Theresa tried to keep her at bay. As a result, Gwen lost her balance and fell! Ethan, Whitney, Chad and Fox came upon the scene and were shocked to find Gwen unconscious! She was rushed to the hospital where the doctor announced the prognosis was grim. The doctor informed Ethan that he had to choose between saving the baby and saving Gwen. Much to Ethan's horror, Theresa insisted that he must save the baby because that's what the church has taught them. Ethan eventually decided to save Gwen. Both Ethan and Gwen were devastated to learn of their baby's tragic fate. In a fit of rage, Gwen even tried to kill Theresa for her role in the events leading to the loss of her baby.
Ethan desperately tried to reach out to Gwen in their time of grief, but Gwen insisted that she wanted nothing more to do with her husband. Meanwhile, Theresa believed that she and Ethan could be together, since he only married Gwen because of her pregnancy. Ethan was horrified by Theresa's assumption and assured her that they would never be a couple.
Once back in Harmony, Ethan continued to try to get Gwen to take him back. After Ethan promised that he would never again come to Theresa's rescue, Gwen agreed to give reconciliation a try. At the same time, Gwen's mother, Rebecca, launched a plan to get revenge on Theresa. She decided to take Little Ethan away from Theresa since Theresa had taken Sarah away from Gwen. Despite Theresa's pleas for help, Ethan was unable to come to his former girlfriend's aid as a result of his promise to Gwen. When Little Ethan was taken away from her, Theresa was devastated that Ethan betrayed her and vowed to never forgive him. Unbeknownst to both Theresa and Gwen, Ethan has been secretly working behind-the-scenes to help Theresa retain custody of her son.
Thanks to further machinations by Rebecca, a devastated Theresa lost custody of Little Ethan to Rebecca and Julian. At the same time, Ethan and Gwen began the process of adopting a child. Rebecca suggested to Gwen that she and Ethan adopt Little Ethan in order to get revenge on Theresa. At first, Gwen didn't go along with Rebecca's plan but eventually she agreed. Ethan was horrified when he heard Gwen's idea, and only agreed to go along with it because he secretly intended to give Little Ethan back to Theresa once he and Gwen had a child of their own.
After Ethan and Gwen won custody of Little Ethan, they also decided to use a surrogate so they could have a biological child of their own. When Theresa learned of this, she decided to use this as a way to get her son back! In her craziest scheme yet, Theresa took the place of Ethan and Gwen's surrogate and had herself implanted with Ethan and Gwen's embryos. She intended to use their baby as a bargaining chip so she could get Little Ethan back. When Ethan and Gwen learned what Theresa had done, they were furious.
Eventually, Theresa lost the baby she was carrying. She realized if she wanted to get her son back that she needed to get pregnant again right away. As a result, she disguised herself as Gwen, drugged Ethan and then slept with him so she could get pregnant again. She was thrilled when the test came back positive that she was pregnant.
Theresa was shocked when she found out she was pregnant with twins. She realized it was possible that she may not have really lost Gwen and Ethan's baby. Ethan began having memories of the night Theresa drugged him and confronted his ex about it. Finally, she admitted what she had done and that one, if not both, babies could be hers and Ethan's. Ethan was horrified by the lengths Theresa had gone to and decided not to tell Gwen the truth.
Theresa experienced complications with the babies and was forced to sacrifice one so the other could live. At first she asked Eve to save her and Ethan's baby, but ultimately left the decision up to fate. Finally, a baby girl (Jane) was born. Theresa decided to claim the baby as her own, and Gwen finally learned the truth. A DNA test was performed and Theresa was revealed to be the mother. Gwen snapped and stabbed her nemesis! As a result, Theresa wound up paralyzed and Gwen wound up in prison. Gwen's mental health deteriorated and believing the baby was her own, she escaped from prison and kidnapped Jane. As Theresa prayed for her daughter's return, Gwen and the baby wound up on the Crane Jet with Katherine, bound for the Crane Compound.
